Description
Requires a new NSF shock absorber and an inner CV boot. There are two new shock absorbers and one new boot already in the car, but the NSF (near side front) is leaking, and the CV boot has some small splits. The vehicle starts and drives well.
Additionally, there is a snapped strut bolt that requires either drilling out the remaining pin or replacing the hub. This part can be sourced for around £40 via eBay.
Throughout my five years of ownership, I've invested in various improvements, including a stainless steel exhaust, new manifold, catalytic converter, alternator, aux tensioner and pulley, radiator, brakes, calipers, handbrake cables, sensors, clutch slave cylinder, front wheel bearings, and a recent battery. I've also replaced two tires and undertaken numerous other maintenance tasks like the coil pack, leads, and sparks.
The car currently drives well and functions as expected, but due to health issues, I can't complete the remaining work. The last MOT had no advisories, and I was aiming for a similar result this time. However, the concern now is the strut pin.
The vehicle is suitable for short, local trips. For longer journeys, I recommend using a trailer or a similar transport method.
There is a slight rattling noise, possibly from the water pump keyway or supercharger, that developed since the car was parked. Even with the new parts, the noise persists. The engine may need some attention, but it's worth the effort to restore or use as a source of quality spare parts.
